Nominating Committee
(a) Prior to a regular meeting of the Synod the shall appoint a Nominating committee consisting of one representative of the clergy and one of the laity from each Archdeaconry in the Diocese.(2) The Chair of this committee will be appointed by the Bishop.
The Nominating Committee shall convene as soon as possible after appointment and proceed to elect a Chair
The Nominating Committee shall prepare a list of eligible nominees, both clerical and lay for election as:
(i) Members of Diocesan CouncilThe Committee shall nominate at least one and one half times the required number of each order for Diocesan Council and at least twice the required number of each order for Provincial Synod and General Synod, and obtain the consent of those nominated.
(ii) Delegates to Provincial Synod
(iii) Delegates to General Synod(d) The Nominating Committee shall submit its report to the Synod. Further nominations may be made by any member of Synod, duly seconded, and shall be added to the ballot on the consent of those nominated
(e) The deadline for receiving nominations during Synod shall be determined by the Agenda Committee following which the Nominating Committee shall prepare a ballot for the elections
